The Internship Coordinator will be responsible for developing, facilitating, and tracking on- and off-campus internships through the Career & Professional Development Center. Date of first consideration: 05/01/2026.
Essential Functions
Increase on- and off-campus internships as well as remote internship opportunities by developing relationships with on-campus faculty/staff and working closely with the Assistant Director for Employer Relations to develop employer relationships in the community, regionally, and nationally. Provide one-on-one internship coaching for students. Develop an expert understanding of internship policies/procedures at SUU as well as federal/state internship laws/regulations to ensure that both on-campus partners and employers are in compliance with such. Convene and support a regular faculty advisory committee on internships acting as the resident expert to answer questions and provide support as a resource. Meet regularly with Internship Coordinators in each academic department to develop relationships and offer ongoing support. Prepare and present internship presentations to classes and student organizations. Oversee the implementation of the new on-campus Professional Internship Program and SUU Career Academy ensuring the growth and development of these programs. Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications 2 Year / Associate degree. Strong oral/written communication skills. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Experience developing and maintaining professional relationships. Demonstrated ability to learn new computer applications quickly. Demonstrated ability to work with a team to support departmental goals and operations. Ability to work with diverse groups and entities. Preferred Qualifications 4 Year / Associate degree. Experience developing and/or managing internships. A demonstrated knowledge of current internship federal/state laws.
