The Recycling Center Maintenance Mechanic – B performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair of, balers, conveyor systems, and compactors. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in diagnosing mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, technical manuals and expertise. Perform repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment and rolling stock to maximize safe and productive operations. Repair or replace hydraulic, mechanical and/or electrical components, such as conveyor belts, electrical motors, gear boxes and bearings. Communicate with supervisor and/or equipment operators for clarification of issues with equipment. May review preventative techniques with equipment users to minimize future issues. Complete paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for applied times (work order times vs. time card times). Perform preventative maintenance according to standard schedules. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Provide assistance to other technicians as necessary. Perform other job-related duties as determined or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 1 year of related experience in equipment maintenance and repair in an industrial/manufacturing environment, or trade school certification. Experience in the use of welding and/or electrical equipment. Experience in millwright or fabricating is a plus. Forklift operator certification, or ability to obtain one within first 3 months of employment. Proven problem solving ability. Hourly Range: $23.55 - $32.98/hr USD - This is a safety sensitive position. Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $23.55 to $32.40 - which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions.
