Reports to the Director of Olympic Sports Performance Nutrition. Primary responsibilities include managing nutritional needs and nutritional programming for the student-athletes for Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball. Counsel athletes on all aspects of performance nutrition, evaluate lab values, develop menus, work with strength & conditioning program to maximize performance by student-athletes, perform some administrative duties as assigned. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/ Other Credentials Serv. Safe certified. Licensed as a Registered Dietitian in the State of South Carolina, or have the ability to obtain licensure within 30 days of employment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree and 2 years of directly related experience preferred. Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Powerpoint, Word, Excel) required, data entry skills. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with student-athletes, coaches, parents, co-workers and the general public. Job Duties Job Duty Direct and oversee all nutritional needs for assigned sports to include planning, monitoring, and implementing performance nutrition for student-athletes. Assist in planning and implementing meals and menus. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty Manage and oversee daily fueling for assigned sports at their facilities and dining hall and track all budgeting numbers for nutrition and communicate with all nutritionists on their ordering and spending. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Counsel athletes on performance nutrition, weight loss, and weight gain, disordered eating, stress fractures, food allergies, and other injury or health concerns. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Assist in analyzing and evaluating lab values and the implementation of dietary supplements. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Collaborate with the Director of Olympic Sports Performance Nutrition along with coaching, sports medicine, strength and conditioning in order to provide updates on nutrition concerns, priorities, and accomplishments made by the athletes Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 5 Job Duty Assist with managing and supervising nutrition students and interns Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 5 Job Duty Assist with ordering, billing, and budgeting.
