Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS 16949 & ISO 14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to manager, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative. Maintain work areas to meet and exceed customer requirements. Ensure TS 16949 and ISO 14001 Work Instructions are followed by team members. Have a basic knowledge of robotic Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and spotweld equipment. Visually monitor housekeeping and plant organization (5 S)Monitor and address safety, environmental, and ergonomic concerns on the shop floor. Monitor quality issues toward our goal of zero defects. Control overtime; manage work schedules and approve employee time & attendance. Improve efficiency by reducing set-up times. Reduce scrap and work to eliminate waste in the manufacturing process. Lead problem-solving efforts to determine root-cause and prevent failure recurrence. Train new employees and coach team to achieve overall business objectives. Perform Forklift Operator training and testing with support from Safety Manager. Create and implement Continuous Improvement suggestions. Monitor employee performance; complete evaluations on-time; issue Corrective Action Requests as required to improve employee performance. Enforce company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Perform Weekly Safety Meetings as defined by the Weekly Safety Topics Program. Help manage Performance Measurables such as Incident Rate, Weekly Inspection Results, Safety, Environmental & Ergonomic Audits, and Employee Opinion Survey scores. Perform Incident Investigations timely to determine root-cause and prevent recurrence. Manage fairly according to the Magna Employee Charter and Operational Principles. Housekeeping and other activities as assigned. Technical Education:Welding, MIG welding, robotics. Forklift Operator license helpful. Metal fabrication. Computer applications. SPC (Statistical Process Control)Maintenance Background helpful. Skills:Ability to supervise general manufacturing processes and team members. Ability to plan and delegate assignments. Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Individual must be a good communicator and a good listener. Must have good understanding of manufacturing operations, machine set-up and changeovers, safety, and quality issues. Must possess good interpersonal skills and present a positive attitude. Ability to motivate team members and set a good example. Ability to evaluate performance and address discipline issues. Ability to work overtime hours including weekends required. Good problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills. Ability to visually monitor production processes and product quality as well as safety. Ability to inspect products using fixtures and precise measuring equipment. Qualifications:5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive assembly or Tier 1 supplier environment 5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience managing high-volume production lines. Experience working with automated assembly equipment, robotics, or stamping/press operations preferred.
