The primary responsibility of a Student Event Staff member is to provide support and assistance with the execution of all campus events and enforce UEC policies and procedures. This support includes, but is not limited to assisting with crowd control, transport (via university vehicles), setup, and breakdown of event related equipment and technology. Event staff will interact directly with student organizations, campus departments, and administrate offices and provide assistance as needed. This person will need to be able to solve on the job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. Event setup and break down. Audio and Visual and Tech Maintenance. Other duties assigned by Supervisor. Responsible for a variety of administrative support functions which demand organization and accuracy including: assist the Director of UEC and Executive Director of Student Center with clerical and administrative needs associated with the operation of the office; provide exceptional customer service; retrieve 25 Live event information; applications and related materials; coordinate input of username and passwords; compose, type, and edit various documents including letters, memos, reports, and forms; screen calls and respond to routine questions; greet and direct students, visitors, faculty, and staff; maintain various computer and paper files, records, and logs; research and retrieve information for compiling reports; data collection; maintain office and inventory areas. Manage mailing/special projects support; organize staff engagement assignments. Other duties include maintain budget/expense, vehicle request transactions, student workers timesheets, and student communications. Primary Function of Organizational Unit The University Event Center serves as the primary contact for all meeting and event planning, scheduling and coordination for on-campus activities at North Carolina A&T State University. The University Events Center (UEC) services students and their organizations, faculty and staff, administrative offices, and off-campus entities in the direct scheduling and coordination of various events. The UEC staff works with a number of individuals via phone, fax and personal contact in the coordination of various events, including conferences, meetings, receptions, retreats, performances, concerts and other major events. Essentially, this office manages the planning, coordination, execution and marketing of any and all events on the university campus.
