The Director, Program Compliance is a pivotal leadership position responsible for shaping the department’s strategic direction, scaling its impact globally, and ensuring compliance services are aligned with priority business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to lead a mature, high-impact team through its next phase of growth, influence company-wide decision-making, and help define how compliance drives value for our clients and business. CJ Program Compliance Program Compliance delivers valuable services that cultivate advertiser confidence in the integrity of their affiliate promotions, create publisher alignment with program policies and industry best practices, and promote strategic investment. We apply specialized technology and expertise to evaluating publisher promotional methods and monitoring advertising content – protecting well-known and niche brands across all major verticals. We proactively help our clients mitigate risks, implement and enforce policies aligned with their business needs, and educate publishers to foster productive, compliant relationships. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Impact This leadership role sets the strategic direction and drives execution for the Program Compliance department, delivering business-critical outcomes by aligning compliance services, priorities, and investments with CJ’s broader business strategy and revenue objectives. The Director ensures the Program Compliance organization delivers high-impact, scalable services that protect and grow client relationships while maintaining compliance integrity and industry best practices. People & Technology The Director is accountable for implementing and optimizing team structures, talent, and technology solutions. They set, monitor, and manage performance against relevant benchmarks, using data and insights to continuously improve effectiveness, efficiency, and client outcomes. As a people leader, the Director builds and sustains a strong culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. They directly manage senior individual contributors and people managers, and work seamlessly with leaders and team members in India and LATAM to improve the performance, consistency, and scale of this global team. Cross-functional & Client Influence The Director, Program Compliance serves as a trusted expert and strategic partner across the CJ organization, coordinating closely with Client Development, Publisher Success, Product, Sales, Legal, and other business leaders. They apply deep CJ and affiliate marketing industry expertise to emerging challenges, new service concepts, and complex situations. Externally, they represent CJ with authority and credibility in client engagements, business reviews, and sales pitches – delivering clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate value, risk mitigation, and strategic alignment. Qualifications What we look for: Bachelor’s degree or higher 10 years professional experience in compliance, affiliate marketing, or a closely related field Proven ability to define strategy and drive execution to achieve business goals Established proficiency in developing subject matter expertise, applying knowledge to new concepts, and formulating solutions to novel challenges Analytical with a proven ability to interpret data and information to make informed, defensible business decisions Demonstrated success leading and scaling high-performing teams, including direct management of tenured professionals and managing through change Strong people leadership skills including coaching, performance management, organizational design, and talent development Functional knowledge of affiliate promotional methods including loyalty, influencer, coupon, price comparison, browser extension, search engine marketing (SEM), programmatic, and email Familiarity with financial services marketing including a conceptual understanding of U.S. financial regulatory considerations and risk management Familiarity with digital marketing compliance technologies including SEM monitoring tools and content crawlers Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement technology solutions and process efficiencies, including AI enablement Ability to understand and apply contractual service obligations to practical execution and quality assurance Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to create and deliver clear, persuasive business presentations Strong collaboration skills and experience working effectively across global teams, time zones, and cultures Proficiency with business productivity tools including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
