This position will be Full-time (35 hours per week), Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 4:30. This position will be on-site. Summary Why It's a Great Opportunity:The Crystal Judson Family Justice Center (CJFJC) is looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our small but highly impactful team that does their best work every day for gender-based violence. In this role, you will handle much of the agency's financials, including management for the agency’s budget, grant billing, agency billing, and payments, while utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel. Other accounting work will include maintaining and ordering office supplies, responding to public records requests, managing donations (monetary and others), coordinating payroll, being the agency timekeeper, contract management, and auditing agency gift cards. This team is highly collaborative, and you will support covering the front desk during lunch or to support other team members, as well as possible new projects to be determined. Core Daily Responsibilities:Reconciles supporting documents to County records using warrant listing, payroll expenditure reports, monthly revenue/expenditure transfers, and cash receipts according to general accounting practices. Verifies warrant listings or checks to correct Purchase Orders or court order which includes verifying amounts, account codes, and vendors. Audits payment vouchers and employee claim for expenses for accuracy and compliance with state and county statues. Batches vouchers, checks, and/or cash for data entry and financial system processing. Analyzes financial system transaction rejects and makes necessary corrections. Monitors expenditures to ensure contracts are not over-expended. Minimum Qualifications Substituting on a month-for-month basis, successful completion of course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or closely-related subjects relevant to the requirements of the position, for a maximum of one year experience requirement. Two or more years of progressively responsible bookkeeping, accounting, auditing or closely-related work experience, or Preferred Qualifications:Prior work experience or understanding of support related to domestic violence, mental health, or substance use abuse. Previous customer service experience is desirable. Knowledge and/or experience of Workday.
