Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions and selecting appropriate montages. Calibrates and adjusts equipment. Observes patients with video and digital recording equipment; ensures EEG and tape are lined up exactly; checks focus, lighting and microphone. Abstracts relevant patient information from clinical record and obtains additional information by questioning. Applies electrodes, respiration monitors and EKG - Other duties assigned. Education:High School Diploma or GED - Knowledge of physical and biological sciences normally attained through high school course work with emphasis in those areas. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Languages:English. Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within one month of hire. Complexity of Work:Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a dynamic ever changing environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience:Minimum six months direct patient care experiencecompleted at minimum one of year post-secondary education( may substitute for experience). Physical Requirements:A high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC> normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 50 pounds. Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e. pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs. Ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
