Salary Incentives: Applicants in possession of a master’s degree (official transcripts) may be eligible for an additional $1,499.94 annually. Possession of a temporary or professional teaching certificate may be eligible for a one-time $1,000 hiring bonus. A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university; and Possess or be eligible to apply for a Temporary Florida Department of Corrections Educator’s Certificate or if applicable a temporary State of Florida Educator's Certificate. SPECIAL NOTE: Successful applicants will be issued a Florida Department of Corrections CTE Temporary Educator’s Certificate. Applicants will have 5 years to obtain the Department of Corrections Educator’s Professional Certificate. A Department of Corrections Educator’s Professional Certificate must be obtained prior to the expiration of the Temporary Certificate. SPECIAL NOTE: This position requires that you pass the Exceptional Student Education (K 12) Subject Area Exam with 12 months of hire. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
