The Director of Data Governance oversees enterprise data governance functions to build and sustain a comprehensive governance program aligned with partners and affiliates. This role leverages strong influence and diplomacy to help senior leaders understand enterprise-wide data value, risks, and opportunities. The director brings a pragmatic, enterprise perspective to problem-solving and partners across the organization to ensure data is effectively leveraged as an asset while meeting all regulatory and contractual obligations. - Work location: Hybrid, but the expectation is to be in the office Tuesday – Thursday in Farmers Branch Position Duties. Establishes and oversees development and operation of SWHR enterprise data governance strategy, including development and oversight of required data governance framework, to ensure strategic alignment with enterprise analytics and digital strategy. Develops policies and standards for defining data and setting parameters for its appropriate use, sharing, and access. Will work collaboratively with multiple departments, including Legal, Compliance, IT, Information Security, HR, and Data Analytics. Oversees all aspects of SWHR data governance to ensure consistent compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations ensuring SWHR remains prepared for audits. Develops and creates required presentations for executive, committee and board meetings, driving adoption of standards across business units. Understands dynamics of working in a joint venture and develops and maintains relationships as necessary to serve as an effective liaison with partner data governance colleagues. Spearheads enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, including development of appropriate meetings to ensure oversight and coordination of SWHR data governance program. Demonstrates working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, TEFCA, and other related statutes and regulations, with an ability to review and apply updates to the SWHR data governance program. Education. Bachelor's Degree Business, IT or related field required. Experience 5 years progressive experience in data governance or data management, including leadership and compliance responsibilities within healthcare or a related regulated setting required. Skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; very good verbal communication skills, exceptional writing skills, resourceful, collaborative, proactive, team oriented, relationship-building skills at all levels within the organization, with the ability to think strategically. Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word.
