Danville State Hospital is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Operator B to support the maintenance and operation of the facility transportation department. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will operate a variety of medium weight, single chassis vehicles and maintenance equipment on and off the hospital grounds in support of various hospital programs, services, and functions. Your work will involve operating equipment to meet transportation needs and provide general maintenance and construction material support, as well as seasonal snow and ice removal services. You will provide patient transportation services to various functional areas of the hospital, as well as off hospital grounds. Some of your duties will include delivering items, operating equipment for groundskeeping, and performing preventative maintenance. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs. Travel and overtime as needed. Free parking! REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or. Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or. Any equivalent combination of experience or training. Special Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. Conditions of Employment:This position requires possession of a Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements.
