The HR Partner – HR Operations, supports the core HR processes that shape the employee experience from day one. This entry-level generalist role serves as the first point of contact for team members, supports payroll and leave administration, and assists in onboarding and offboarding documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and eager to grow within the HR field. Key Responsibilities: Employee Support & Experience Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries, managing the HR inbox and in-person requests while providing guidance on HR policies, payroll, benefits, and general employee questions. Provide timely, accurate, and empathetic support to team members and leaders. Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and service-oriented workplace culture. Onboarding & New Hire Experience Prepare new hire documentation, and orientation materials. Partner with hiring managers to ensure readiness for each new employee’s first day. Maintain accurate onboarding records, both in employee files and applicable HRIS systems, and track completion of required tasks and trainings. Payroll Administration Support payroll processing activities to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation. Review timecards and address payroll discrepancies, responding to employee payroll inquiries, and collaborating with Finance and Senior HR resources as needed. Maintain accurate payroll records and support audits or reporting requests. Leave & FMLA Administration Assist in the administration of FMLA and other leaves of absence by processing documentation, updating records, and coordinating with senior HR partners for review and guidance. Support leave administration workflows, including monitoring key deadlines, maintaining accurate employee records and update HRIS as applicable, and escalating issues as needed. Compliance & Training Tracking Monitor and track compliance training completions and required certifications. Follow up with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion. Support HR compliance initiatives, audits, and documentation. HR Operations & Systems Maintain accurate employee data within HRIS and related systems. Support offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates. Assist with policy updates, reporting, and process improvements. General HR Support Contribute to HR projects, employee events, and engagement initiatives. Assist with performance management cycles and training coordination. Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems, or compliance tracking tools is a plus (training provided). A customer-service mindset and a desire to grow within the HR profession. Why Choose Iowa Ortho?
