Creative Director, Amazon Ads, Brand Innovation Lab: Food, Leisure & Communications

As a Creative Director in the Brand Innovation Lab team, you will be leading one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands from creative brief to launch. You'll work with a team of art directors, copywriters, designers, strategists, solutions managers, and content producers to create innovative work by coming up with campaign ideas using the Amazon canvas (i.e. Alexa, Twitch, IM - Db, Prime Video). You'll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope. In this role, you will craft high-level creative ideas that solve business needs for Grocery, Telecommunications, and Quick Service Restaurant brands. You will investigate Amazon/3 P data to generate insights based on observed customer behavior. And, through a deep understanding of Amazon's suite of tools and services, recommend campaign frameworks that balance advertiser goals with customers' expectations. You will think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored content across channels driving the marketing objectives of advertisers. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that drive operational and creative excellence. And you will mentor creatives and foster the team culture of collaboration and inspiration. Key job responsibilities-Independently direct campaigns and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners-Direct creative disciplines outside your area of functional expertise and provide feedback in all stages of the creative development process-Partner with and/or lead art directors, copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives-Deliver high-quality copy for campaigns across different Amazon touch-points-Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats digital, print, out-of-home, video and audio scripts, and more-Concept, pitch, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands, from developing the creative brief to launching the campaign-Work with strategists to define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers-Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas-Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally-Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs-Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and improve them through documentation-Mentor and inspire other creatives. A day in the life-Lead a brainstorm session with copywriters and designers to develop a launch concept for a global cpg brand in the grocery space, bringing together various facets of the Amazon canvas under one overarching creative concept.-Attend a briefing session for a global grocery brand in order to translate their objectives into a focused creative brief for future development.-Pitch a cross-platform campaign concept to a national cpg brand in the beverage space, walking the client through how Twitch integrations and a FTV hub support their overall objectives.-Meet with the solutions manager to review technical feasibility for a grocery brand's idea to use Amazon's Gen AI capabilities to personalize recipe content based on customer shopping history. Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) is an award-winning advertising team that conceptualizes and executes bespoke advertising experiences for brands who invest in media with Amazon Ads, scaling successful campaign elements as new products or features in existing products. Our global team of storytellers and innovators includes creatives, strategists, design technologists, engineers, producers and more, collaborating to create customer-obsessed solutions across the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, Fire TV, etc.) that are customized to our advertisers' goals. Basic Qualifications- 8 years of driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team experience- Bachelor's degree. Preferred Qualifications- Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions- Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery- Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)- Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines- Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., image generators, LLM-based copywriting assistants, video synthesis tools) and an understanding of how to incorporate them into creative workflows to accelerate ideation, production, and personalization at scale.
