The Technology Portfolio Manager is responsible for a combination of customer management, financial management, and technical experience contributing to the success of our Fin. Ops practice. This role will be responsible for partnering and consulting with Information Technology and Business Management partners on Cloud cost opportunities, planning, and implementation of Fin. Ops principles with a focus on our data platform technologies. Candidates should be able to develop and maintain knowledge of how business units leverage cloud and data platforms and detailed knowledge of current technology and infrastructure from a functional perspective. Key Responsibilities. Fin. Ops Foundational Knowledge. Basic understanding of Fin. Ops principles, including cloud cost transparency, forecasting, and financial accountability. Familiarity with cloud consumption models, budgeting concepts, and cost-aware engineering practices. Ability to partner with finance and engineering teams to support responsible cloud spend and optimization initiatives. Financial Management. Participate in budgeting for Data technology portfolios, ensuring accurate sequencing and financial tracking. Oversee monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and opportunity recommendations to ensure delivery within approved budgets. Manage vendor financials (SO - Ws, invoicing) and ensure compliance with financial controls and business case standards. Executive-Level Communications. Prepare concise, outcome-focused updates and executive summaries for leadership, synthesizing delivery progress, risk posture, and financial health. Tailor communications for portfolio reviews and strategic investment forums, ensuring clarity and actionable insights. Microsoft Tool Sets & Reporting. Leadership & Mentoring. Provide leadership and mentoring to portfolio managers and scrum teams, emphasizing delivery discipline, value measurement, and financial stewardship. Develop repeatable playbooks and elevate team performance through coaching and accountability. Basic Qualifications. Typically requires Bachelor’s degree with five to eight or more years of relevant experience. Experience Should Include 7–10 years in technology portfolio/program management, leading multi-team initiatives with significant budget responsibility. Basic understanding of Fin. Ops principles and Data Platform technologies. Experience in financial planning & analysis for technology portfolios (annual plan, Cap. Ex/ Opex, forecasting, variance resolution). Success in delivering complex initiatives with cross-functional coordination. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 and portfolio management tooling. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing executive-ready materials. Preferred Qualifications. Foundational understanding of modern data platform technologies and architectures. Familiarity with data lakes, data warehouses, and analytical processing platforms. Awareness of data ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows. Ability to partner with data engineering, platform, and analytics teams. Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and/or other data platform technologies. Experience managing costs within Azure and AWS cloud providers. Exposure to cloud financial management tools. Fin.
