About this Job OUR MISSION - The Natchitoches Levee and Drainage District primarily covers areas within Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. It specifically maintains over 30 miles of levee system along the Red River within Natchitoches Parish, extending from north of the City of Natchitoches to the lower Cane River at the southern parish line. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE - The Mobile Equipment Operation 1/ Heavy is a valuable part of the Natchitoches Levee and Drainage District. The position will be responsible for operating Excavator, backhoe, motor patrol gallon 100 hp, freightliner dump truck. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:Operates bulldozer, Komatsu 65 hp, D-6 Caterpillar 110 hp and D-4 Caterpillar 90 hp spreading and leveling dirt on levees and bayou banks, cleaning trees on bayou banks and encroachments on levees, doing repair work on levee filling in holes and dressing out slopes. Operates Tractor, John Deere, 7405 and 7320 105 hp. with 15' cutter, cutting grass on levee. Operates Excavator, backhoe, motor patrol gallon 100 hp, freightliner dump truck. Apply herbicides for weed control on all levees around flood gates and fences Paint all structures and flood gates Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probation Appointment - up to 24 months.
