We are seeking a Research Assistant who will work primarily on an NIH-funded research study investigating healthy aging in autism spectrum disorder. The Research Assistant will get hands-on experience in the administration and study execution, team-science, and protocol development and implementation. The individual will have the opportunity to develop their research skills across multiple methodological approaches, including understanding cognitive and imaging research. Responsibilities Essential Functions:The Research Assistant will work primarily on one NIH-funded research study, with additional studies potentially added over time. The individual will have many opportunities to contribute to the scientific process. Work duties will include, but are not limited to the following;1. Recruitment and scheduling of research participants .. Maintains files and records of research data .. Data collection from a variety of sources .. Data entry and database management 5. Consenting and interviews of research participants 6. Preparing study materials and assisting research participants during study visits 7. May assist in cognitive testing of research participants 8. May assist in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation materials 9. May edits research papers, project reports, and publication materials 10. May travel to a variety of sites both within and outside the University campus to obtain data. Comments:Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required. Nearly Continuously: Office environment. Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required. Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking. Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking. Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Research Coordinator (Non-R. N.), I: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree. Preferences The candidate will enjoy working as part of a research team and communicating with research participants and families. Preference will be given to individuals with a background in psychology or experience in neuropsychological or cognitive testing. Preference will also be given to individuals with interest and/or experience working with adults with cognitive difficulties, developmental disabilities, and/or autism spectrum disorder.
