Visiting Assistant Professor in Piano. Department:Arts and Sciences | Music. The School of Music at The Ohio State University seeks to hire a 9-month, non-tenure-track, Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano starting August 15, 2026. The successful candidate will have demonstrated evidence of successful teaching in higher education and a representative record of professional performance experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enriching the student experience of keyboard studies at Ohio State through providing teaching and mentorship to students as they pursue a wide range of academic and professional goals. Responsibilities will include teaching applied piano to undergraduate and graduate students in various degree programs. Additional duties, depending on the needs of the area, may include teaching courses such as piano literature, as well as coaching chamber music and contributing to the artistic and academic life of the School of Music. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of artistic activity as a performing pianist and clear potential for effective teaching at the university level. Education and Experience Requirements. Required: Doctoral Degree in Piano.
