The School of Business at Portland State University seeks candidates for a three-year fixed term, full-time, non-tenure track position to teach 36 credit hours of Business Technology & Analytics (BTA) courses across three quarters per the 9-month academic year. A limited amount of service activities to either the University, School of Business or BTA area, as well as engagement with the business community is expected. Requirements for the position include: A Master’s degree in a discipline with a focus on business and technology, such as Information Systems, Data Science, Technology Management, Technology Entrepreneurship, or related field, Recent experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate university students relevant business courses, Evidence of high-quality teaching, Experience working with or documented knowledge of two of the following: Python, SQL, data science and analytics methods, text analytics, deep learning, and advanced MS Excel skills, An interest in teaching in both traditional in person as well as online modes and both undergraduate and graduate courses. Experience teaching relevant upper-division and graduate-level business courses and experience using AI for data analytics is preferred. In addition, the School seeks candidates whose experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education. To be eligible for this position, candidates must be residents of either Washington or Oregon for the duration of employment. The position is a 9-month contract (September to June) and starts on 9/16/26. There may be an opportunity for a reduced course load for research-active individuals with terminal degrees. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be $75,006 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
