The purpose of the Milling CNC Operator is to take rough cut components and to mill precise dimensions and details that prepare the components to be assembled into the final product. CNC Milling is where the rough materials begin to take shape into guitars. Team members are required to have a great attention to detail and intimate knowledge of the types, and properties of wood. Milling is where a Gibson Guitar begins and is a vital process in the creation of a guitar that is both beautiful and has that distinct Gibson Sound. Essential Functions:Learn and execute standard operating procedures. Safely operate complex CNC machinery. Perform routine checks for safety and quality on all tools associated with machines. Inspect incoming wood for cracks, color grading, and grain defects .5% pass rate based on production requirements. Operate to a set weekly output schedule. Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.) Maintains product flow at appropriate rate. Adheres to department protocols (5 S and Safety) Adherence to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules. Obligation to submit safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR codeSupport the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/ Abilities:Strong attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision. Develop a strong understanding of all guitar models. Education and Experience:Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan. Must be 18 years of age or older.
