The Physical Therapist (PT) provides specialized, evidence-based therapy for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex behavioral or medical needs. You'll assess and treat patients to improve mobility, coordination, and motor skills while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of therapists, nurses, and physicians. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, and passionate about helping children achieve independence and lifelong success. What You'll Do. Provide individualized physical therapy services to children and adolescents with ASD, IDD, or neurodevelopmental challenges. Conduct comprehensive assessments of movement, posture, gait, balance, and coordination using standardized tools. Develop and implement custom treatment plans that promote motor learning, mobility, and functional independence. Use therapeutic modalities such as aquatic therapy, rhythmic auditory stimulation, and task-specific training. Integrate assistive technology and adaptive equipment (gait trainers, orthotics, standers) to enhance patient outcomes. Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavioral health, and nursing teams for holistic care. Engage families in goal setting, therapy participation, and home programs to ensure continued success. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). Participate in team meetings, clinical rounds, and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications. Education:Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (required)Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred. Experience:Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required. Pediatric or neurologic physical therapy experience preferred. Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, IDD, or neurodevelopmental populations strongly desired. Skills:Expertise in motor learning, sensory integration, and neurodevelopmental techniques. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with EHR documentation and adaptive equipment use. Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with children and families. Licensure & Certifications:Current Texas Physical Therapist (PT) License - required. CPR / BLS Certification - required. De-escalation Training - required within 30 days of hire
