Assists the Traffic Manager/ Coordinator in the administration and coordination of traffic activities by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Must possess the ability to work effectively with supervisors, peers and general public. Prepares daily documentation required for shipments. Classifies bills of lading and prepares daily load tally as needed. Maintains bills of lading files and customer routing files. Prepares manifests and export documentation as required. Assists in logging receipts into receiving records. Responsible for recording pick-tickets printed. Schedules pick-ups with customer's traffic department and freight carriers. Maintains and updates stock locator system. Processes UPS shipments. Assists Traffic Manager with cycle count procedure as required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to have a working knowledge of the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as stock status reports, picking tickets, freight schedules, and return documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and communicate with drivers and with other employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
