Clinical Care: Provide expert psychiatric consultation, assessment, and treatment for admitted patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions in the context of complex medical and surgical illness (e.g., mood, anxiety, psychotic, cognitive, and adjustment disorders; delirium; capacity assessments; crisis management) as part of the CL Psychiatry service. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with medical and surgical services to provide evidence-based psychiatric consultation and treatment recommendations, supporting integrated, collaborative care across the hospital. Education & Training: Participate in the education of medical students, psychiatry residents, and fellows (including CL Psychiatry fellows) through direct & indirect supervision. Leadership & Innovation: Contribute to the development and refinement of policies, pathways, and protocols related to the management of psychiatric conditions in the inpatient medical setting, promoting best practices and the highest standards of care. Board Certification: Board-certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry. Licensure: Valid and unrestricted medical license in New York State (or eligibility to obtain one). Experience: Fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (or equivalent hospital/medical psychiatry experience) is strongly preferred, with a demonstrated interest in complex medically ill populations. Skills: Expertise in the assessment and management of psychiatric disorders in medically ill patients; strong consultation skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment; academically oriented with an interest in medical education and scholarly activity.
