The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for communication systems, emergency generators, fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm, electrical wiring, and controls for all above systems. Work may require bending, squatting, or standing for extended periods of time and may require lifting of up to 50 pounds. Install, maintain and repair fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, communications systems, emergency generators, electronic equipment, and controls for all above systems. Including rebuilding, rewiring and preparing engineering drafts and electronic circuitry of the above. Install, maintain and repair valves to include design, engineer piping and other related equipment as per National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) code. Repair, modify and re-engineer electronic equipment working from drawings, diagrams and schematics on an advanced level. Install, maintain, re-wire and repair electrical motors and other related electrical and mechanical equipment. Operate hand and power tools. Assists with the relocation of residents’ belongings as needed, and movement of any furniture/equipment at Tacachale. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must maintain a NFPA 72 certification. A valid Florida Driver’s License. If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days. Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle. Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
