As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety. Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols. To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction. Performs phlebotomy on neonatal pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients; prepares specimens for testing; performs clerical duties when necessary. Displays competence and success with all ages and conditions of patients. Uses proper patient identifiers and aseptic technique. Has good rapport with patients and loved ones to obtain "strongly agree" response on patient surveys. Displays working knowledge of lab computer systems. Collects, receives and properly prepares specimens for testing in-house and to other facilities. Processes specimens from other facilities with accuracy. Prioritizes well. Displays ability to prepare and complete Rounds within established time frames. Has good rapport with other hospital staff to accomplish goals. Prioritizes well with Stat, Urgent and Timed draws. Works well with Laboratory Clerks to prioritize and accomplish goals. Displays ability to overcome obstacles to reduce patient waiting time. Maintains Waiting Room and Draw Station for a professional appearance. Displays understanding and flexibility to accomplish daily goals. Overcomes obstacles such as high volume and short staffing. Takes breaks and meals with lab goals in mind. Attends staff meetings. Displays respect and support for senior staff and management. Works well with coworkers and helps new employees. Attendance issues are within standards Adapts well to change. Job Requirements. Required:Must possess and maintain a current Phlebotomy licensed with the State of California. Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate, we accept American Heart Association. High school graduate or equivalent. Computer literate. Preferred:One year of experience in phlebotomy in a clinical hospital laboratory. Where You'll Work.
