THE ROLE:We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and service-driven Houseperson – Events to join our team at Park Hyatt Chicago. In this role, you will help create flawless event experiences by setting, maintaining, and breaking down banquet and meeting spaces according to detailed diagrams and guest specifications. You will work closely with our Banquets, Sales & Events, and Operations teams to ensure every room is immaculate, organized, and ready for service. Your responsibilities will include setting up tables, chairs, linens, staging, and equipment, maintaining cleanliness throughout event spaces, responding to last-minute changes, and supporting the banquet operation during events. Whether preparing a corporate meeting or a luxury wedding, you will help ensure every detail reflects the exceptional standards of Park Hyatt Chicago. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances. BENEFITS:Health Benefits: Eligibility & coverage provided and administered through Local 1 Union. Luxury Hospitality Experience: Prior Houseperson, Banquet Setup, or related experience in a luxury or full-service hotel preferred. Physical Capability: Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment (tables, chairs, staging, etc.), stand/walk for extended periods, and move efficiently throughout the property. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed setup diagrams and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization. Team Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with Banquets, Events, Culinary, and Stewarding teams. Guest-Centric Mindset: Professional, polished demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues. Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks, respond to last-minute changes, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. Schedule Flexibility: Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.
