ATHENS,GA - Med Surg Unit. Full time Days 7 am-7 pm Med A is seeking an energetic medical-surgical patient care tech to join our dynamic team here at Piedmont Athens. We pride ourselves in providing high quality, evidenced based care on a fast paced 30 bed Med-Surg unit. Our Med A staff coordinate health care plans with the entire medical team to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients suffering from a variety of illnesses and comorbidities including overflow from our specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary, Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff include IV team, home med nurse and lift team. A welcoming work family Responsibilities The Patient Care Tech, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, provides care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, demonstrating competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy. - Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios - Qualifications Education. H. S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred. Work Experience. No experience required 1 year of patient care experience Preferred. Licenses and Certifications. BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required. CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Preferred. Certification from a Patient Care Technician program Preferred
