The Role: Our sites in Colorado Springs, CO are seeking a centralized Senior Tooling Planner to join the team. The Tooling Planner (Injection Molding) is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating injection molding tooling activities across two sites to support production requirements. This role ensures molds and tooling are available, maintained, and optimized to meet production and New Product Development (NPD) schedules. A key focus of this position is driving and maintaining high schedule adherence across tooling and production plans. The role also manages tooling-related personnel resources and scheduling priorities across two shared locations, ensuring alignment, efficient utilization, and minimal production disruption. Assures manufacture of tools, molds, jigs, fixtures, patterns, templates, models, form blocks, plastic tooling, Manufacturing Test Equipment (MTE) and other tooling jobs are on schedule. What You’ll Do: Manage and prioritize tooling workloads across both the Arrowswest and Rockrimmon locations, balancing capacity, urgency, and business needs Develop and manage detailed schedules for injection molding tooling, including mold availability, preventative maintenance, repairs and changeovers Drive and monitor schedule adherence, ensuring tooling readiness aligns with production plans Analyze schedule adherence performance, identify root causes of gaps, and implement corrective actions Coordinate tooling readiness to support production schedules, new product introductions (NPI), and engineering changes Manage and prioritize tooling workloads across two shared locations, balancing capacity, urgency, and business needs Allocate and coordinate personnel resources (toolmakers and mold techs) across both sites Partner with production planning, production supervisors, manufacturing engineering, process technicians, set-up technicians and maintenance teams to align tooling schedules with manufacturing plans Monitor mold performance, downtime, and maintenance intervals to proactively adjust schedules Ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance for molds and tooling Track tooling inventory, status, and location across both facilities Work with external vendors for mold repair, modification, and procurement of supplies as needed Drive continuous improvement in tooling scheduling and asset utilization, using standard cycle time management Standardize tooling planning processes and communication across both locations Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements What We Seek: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience) 7 years of experience in injection molding, tooling planning, or manufacturing operations Strong understanding of injection molding processes, mold construction, and maintenance practices Proven experience in production or tooling scheduling in a high-volume manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience improving and managing schedule adherence metrics Experience managing or coordinating resources across multiple sites Strong familiarity with SAP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of mold flow, tooling lifecycle management, and preventive maintenance systems Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma experience Familiarity with CAD drawings and tooling documentation
