The building maintenance technician is responsible for ensuring that the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained by performing routine inspections, repairs, and upkeep tasks. This role involves addressing issues with systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, while responding promptly to maintenance requests to support daily operations. Responsibilities. Perform routine inspections of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) to ensure proper operation. Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce the risk of equipment failure. Respond to maintenance requests and repair issues in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and fix problems such as leaks, electrical faults, or broken fixtures. Maintain and repair building structures, including walls, flooring, and doors. Ensure safety standards and regulations are followed at all times. Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or services. Keep maintenance logs and records of work performed. Monitor inventory and order necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance. Required Qualifications. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar commercial or industrial building maintenance role. Hands-on experience with basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry repairs. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications. More than 5 years of experience in a similar role. Vocational training, or certification in an applicable field. Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and drawings. Basic computer skills. Hourly Rate$25 depending on qualifications. Work Shift 8-5, M-F - Infrequent on-call hours, only to be required for emergencies requiring additional on-site support. Typical tasks expected to be completed during regular business hours.
