Primary Role: As a member of the Kentucky State Police Information Technology Branch, you will be responsible for supporting the KSP Forensic Lab locations and the specialized Information Technology (IT) equipment. You will be a member of the Field Support Section and the Forensic Lab Team. Base Location: Frankfort – KSP Central Forensic Laboratory Key Responsibilities: Provide support for the specialized IT forensic lab equipment used by KSP personnel. Provide support for the KSP IT systems, including hardware and software used by KSP employees. Lead IT technician for forensic laboratories. Performs other duties as assigned. Will report to the Information Systems Supervisor for the Forensic Lab Team. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: High school graduate. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of network services, Information Technology (IT) systems support, IT production support or a related field. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education in computer science, IT, or a related field will substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in network services, IT systems support, IT production support, or a related field will substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis; OR a certification in an IT related field will substitute for the required education. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18 A.111.
