The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ohio University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Professor, Chemistry and Biochemistry, (Non-tenure track). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate lecture courses in general chemistry and/or biochemistry and/or analytical and/or forensic chemistry. They might also assist in the supervision of the general chemistry undergraduate labs, including supervision of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants and students attending the laboratory sessions. The candidate is expected to teach up to four lectures per semester, depending on class size and workload. The Visiting Professor position is a full time, nine-month position for the academic year 2026-2027 (from August 16, 2026, to May 15, 2027). The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry recently moved into a purpose-built chemistry building with ample new laboratory space. Department faculty are leaders in multidisciplinary fields across the university including biomedical research. Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate is expected to have a PhD. in Chemistry or closely related field by the start date of appointment. Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have a PhD. in Chemistry or closely related field and experience with teaching courses in general chemistry, and/or experience in managing undergraduate chemistry laboratories.
