Reviews, extracts and analyzes data to be used in formulation of procedures, processes and other requirements. Provides reports of relevant activity to be used to identify problematic areas and to provide basis for modification and/or elimination of operations issues. Assists with development of complex analysis and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretations to guide divisional efforts. Performs focused analyses as needed. Creates data search programs to identify pertinent data needed to provide supporting documentation for system or operational enhancements/changes. Documents reporting procedures so other staff can run ad hoc reports independently. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions. Required Education: Bachelor's in a job related field. Or an additional 4 years of job related work experience. Or Associate's plus an additional 2 years job related work experience. Required Work Experience: 2 Years Research and analysis experience. Required Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational, customer service, communications, and analytical skills. Ability to use complex mathematical calculations. Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts. Knowledge of relevant computer support systems. Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB 2, SQL, and/or relational databases. Ability to analyze data results, determine the source of aberrant statistics, and resolve data issues. Required Software and Tools: Microsoft Office. Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes. We Prefer That You Have:Preferred Work Experience: 4 Years-Research and analysis experience . years of National Alliance claims research experience (PDU claims experience preferred)Working knowledge of Benefit Files / BDS - Experience interacting directly with external customers, and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in challenging situations. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Computer programming skills. Negotiation or persuasion skills. Knowledge of ICD 9/ CPT 4 coding. Preferred Software and Other Tools: SAS experience. Work Environment: Typical office environment. Some travel between buildings and out of town.
