Performing physical and chemical laboratory analyses on feedstock, in-process samples, finished products, SRU, LPG, cooling tower water, and wastewater treatment samples. Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, including but not limited to gas chromatographs (FID/ PID), ICP instruments, sulfur/nitrogen analyzers, and titrators. Conducting laboratory testing for materials purchased and sold by the organization. Supporting investigations related to product nonconformities and assisting in root-cause analysis activities. Assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of statistical quality control (SQC) programs. Preparing and issuing laboratory test reports for internal stakeholders and external customers upon completion or request. Performing preventive maintenance, calibration, verification, and general upkeep of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Monitoring laboratory supplies, gases, and consumables, and coordinating replenishment to ensure uninterrupted operations. Managing laboratory waste levels and initiating appropriate disposal processes in compliance with regulations. Maintaining accurate laboratory documentation, records, notebooks, and technical reports in approved systems. Creating, maintaining, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory work instructions. Adhering to established safety standards, maintaining safety records (including SDS and equipment inspections), and actively contributing to continuous improvement of laboratory safety practices. Working effectively both independently and as part of a team, while supporting rotating shift schedules and overtime requirements as needed. Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED. Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. Demonstrated ability to communicate laboratory data clearly, both verbally and in writing. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to perform laboratory analyses safely and accurately in accordance with established procedures Preferred Qualifications:Degree or coursework in chemistry, science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experienceOne or more years of experience working in a laboratory environment. Experience with wet chemistry techniques, ICP, and gas chromatography. Knowledge of oils and fats, agricultural products, petroleum products, or related processing industries. Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, statistical quality control, and troubleshooting practices. Experience working with manufacturing or laboratory information systems (e.g., PI systems, JD Edwards, or equivalent).
