The Electrician I is responsible for maintaining, installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment as well as troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems throughout the facility. General plant cleanup, including but not limited to, sweeping with push broom and vacuuming warehouse floors, emptying all hoppers and taking waste to the landfill. Accept any emergency callouts which fall within the range of skills of the electrician or as requested by EP Minerals. Operate instruments, electrical tools and equipment as required to make or repair parts and equipment. Operate mobile equipment as required. Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by ensuring the completion of preventive maintenance requirements follows diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications. Designs, builds, installs and repairs electrical circuits for tools and plant equipment. Test electronic circuits to locate defects using instruments, such as, digital volt meters and/or analog testing equipment. Lean to inspect, dismantle, clean, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, replace, erect and maintain equipment through the plant. Test all plant instruments which could include pneumatics, flow, pressure, temperature and level. Comply with all safety and environmental regulations. Have a complete knowledge of the operation and trouble-shooting of all electrical equipment and circuits in the plant and to acquire the same knowledge of any new electrical equipment or systems added to the plant. Provide and maintain a large enough set of tools to enable him/her to make efficient repairs to electrical equipment. The size of this set is to be determined by the maintenance superintendent. Must be able to identify equipment by its assigned equipment number, (an absolute safety requirement), to insure proper lockout. Identification by the equipment fiscal appearance, location, and its representation on the mill flow diagrams. Works with each department providing necessary electrical support to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved. Maintain an electronic log of any highlights occurring during shift coverage. Conduct safety compliance audits (looking for unsafe conditions or unsafe acts)Properly complete quality records as required per the Quality Management System.. Maintain an awareness of the Quality Management System. Attend extra training classes. Assembles, installs, inspects, maintains repairs, modifies, troubleshoots, and tests electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Equipment may include; motors, generators, motor control centers, switch gear, lighting circuits, A. C. and D.C. variable speed drives, solid state boards, electronic process control devices and electronic scales. Troubleshoot motor circuits, wire, fuses, solid state contactors, solid state overloads, electronic overloads, thermal couplers, P I D loops, understand process variables, voltage calculations, electrical blue prints etc. Responsible for the proper maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Have a complete knowledge of the operation and trouble-shooting of all electrical equipment and circuits in the plant and ons, electrical blue prints etc . years in a process manufacturing environment. Demonstrates experience and ability in mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance troubleshooting techniques; Allen Bradley and other PLC experience required. Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles/concepts;Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Monitors own work to ensure quality. The ability to work with a high degree of independence. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal);The ability to work in a fast paced environment (multi-tasking skills a must);The ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and algebra. Good attention to quality and detail. Computer skills – experience with IFS or other ERP systems preferred.
