Conducts rounds on the maternal/infant units and other units with lactating mothers, evaluating and encouraging the nursing dyad by providing support and professional advice. Works in various lactation centers, providing private consultations, answering the breastfeeding help line, facilitating weekly mother/baby luncheons, and selling breastfeeding products. Plans and presents prenatal breastfeeding classes, collects evaluations, and makes necessary changes to improve classes. Provides accurate and consistent information to clients and patients regarding breastfeeding and company policies and procedures. Attends staff meetings and seminars to stay updated on the latest research and shares information with colleagues and staff. Collaborates with hospital staff and provides in-service programs upon request. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Other duties as assigned.
