Tradesworker, Senior Facilities Maintenance

Lee County is looking for reliable and skilled team members to help keep our buildings safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. In this role, you’ll help make sure the systems in our facilities work the way they should, supporting the spaces our community uses every day. Duties and Responsibilities
What You Will Do. Monitor, adjust, and schedule building automation systems. Assist tradesworkers and contractors with fixing heating, cooling, and lighting systems. Respond to emergency calls and handle issues such as alarms, leaks, and fires. Check pumps, valves, and other building equipment during night duties. Walk through buildings to make sure they are safe, working properly, and in good condition. Inspect and test fire alarm panels, fire pumps, and other life-safety systems. Inspect generators, refuel them when needed, and perform basic maintenance.
Education, Experience, Licensing
What We’re Looking For. High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Two (2) years of experience in a trade or closely related field, such as: HVAC Technician. Building Maintenance Technician. Electrical Technician. Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician. Fire Alarm Technician. Utility Systems Technician. Plant Operations Technician. Controls Technician. Maintenance Mechanic. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Will be required to undergo a fingerprint-based NCIC background check, and must be able to obtain security clearances from the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the State's Attorney's Office in addition to the standard Consumer Report-based background check that is required for conditional offers of employment.
Supplemental Information
Work Hours and Days. Regular hours will be:Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Saturday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Sunday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Monday 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM - The first month of work will be regular day hours for training and then switch to these hours.
