The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) III provides comprehensive physical and psychological care to patients under Court-Ordered Evaluation or Treatment for mental illness. Services are delivered at one of our inpatient facilities located in Maryvale, Phoenix, or Mesa. As a key member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the BHT III works collaboratively with clinical staff, patients, and families to support a safe, therapeutic environment. This role serves as a resource and role model to other staff, demonstrating advanced knowledge of patient care practices and unit procedures. The BHT III partners closely with the Charge Nurse or CRL to support unit operations, promote positive change, and assist with the implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes. Hourly Pay Range: $19.73 - $29.10 18% differential for night shifts 8% differential for weekend shifts 26% differential for weekend shift with nights Qualifications Education: Requires a High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years of behavioral health experience or A Bachelor s degree or higher degree in any field plus 1.5 years of behavioral health experience. Basic Behavioral Sciences Certificate of Completion or a Bachelor s degree in a field related to Behavioral Health is preferred. Experience: Prefer behavioral health experience in an inpatient facility. Prefer 12 months of experience working as a Behavioral Health Tech II at Valleywise Health. Specialized Training: CPI, EKG, Accu. Check, and manual vital signs training. Must complete phlebotomy training and within six (6) months of promotion or hire. Certification/ Licensure: Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association Valleywise Behavioral Health Center - Mesa Unit 2 Adolescent: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit completed application to the Arizona Department of Public Safety within seven days of transfer date. Fingerprint clearance cards must remain valid for the entire period of issuance and must be renewed prior to expiration. Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R 9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A. R. S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member s scope of practice. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must demonstrate the skills and knowledge to provide behavioral health services to adults, including those over the age of 65, adolescents, individuals with substance abuse, individuals who are seriously mentally ill, individuals who have co-occurring disorder, and/or individuals who may be victims or perpetrators of domestic violence. Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
