BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors, is seeking a Senior Principal II Production Support Electrical Test Engineer to join the Precision Guided Munitions (PGM) team within the Advanced Weapons Systems Division in Maple Grove, MN. As a leader in process testing and analysis, this individual will drive solutions to complex manufacturing and product assembly challenges. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality and manufacturing standards, policies, and procedures, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative electrical testing solutions for a high-volume production environment.As Senior Principal II Electrical Test Engineer with BAE Systems you will:Translate design requirements into robust production test procedures, equipment, and acceptance criteria for PGM manufacturingDevelop, implement, and oversee electrical test processes, including MIL-STD environmental testing (i.e. vibration, thermal, etc.)Analyze test data, document results, and validate system performance, safety margins, and quality complianceTroubleshoot test and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsWork with outside suppliers to develop and build automated test equipmentEnsure compliance with regulatory, safety, and AS 9100 quality standardsCoordinate calibration, maintenance, and operation of precision electronic test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)Design and improve test methodologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and manufacturabilitySupport subsystem/system integration, verification, and acceptance testing for components and flight hardwareInterpret engineering drawings and customer requirements to develop test plans and qualification proceduresProvide cross-functional technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teamsApply Lean methodologies to continuously improve manufacturing & testing processes, flow, and efficiencyWork a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday offRequired Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) with 10 years of production support experienceStrong electrical fundamentals with demonstrated troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilityExperience with automated test systems, standard test equipment, and testing software/toolsProficient in use of bench top test instrumentation (i.e. multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) and electrical engineering toolsProficiency in technical documentation and reporting; strong written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and regulatory/compliance standardsAbility to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models (i.e. Creo, Visio, etc.)Programming experience required with tools such as Lab. VIEW and Simulink/ Matlab preferredHigh attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and safety protocolsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environmentsEffective team collaboration and relationship-building across cross-functional teamsAdaptable to new technologies, methods, and continuous improvement initiativesThis role requires regular presence in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. The incumbent must be able to access and safely navigate production areas which may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, and working in confined spaces. Must also be able to comply with all requirements including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Defense or aerospace experience with knowledge of military specifications, Mil-Spec cabling, and system integrationExperience across design, analysis, testing, integration, qualification, and fielding3 years Electrical Test Engineering experience with basic coding/scripting (Lab. VIEW or Simulink/ Matlab)Experience with PLC programming, automated test systems, and test method development for electro-mechanical systemsProficient in use of test instrumentation (i.e. multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) and electrical engineering tools5 years electro-mechanical assembly and electronics soldering experience (IPC/ J-STD preferred)Working knowledge of aerospace/defense systems (electrical, controls, avionics, hydraulics, power, structures) and requirements management (traceability, verification, validation)Experience with CAD and electrical design tools (i.e. Creo) and diagramming tools (Visio)Familiarity with system modeling, controls architecture, and dynamic/steady-state analysisExperience developing safe, lean, and effective operator test procedures for complex systemsKnowledge of communications/antenna integration and GPS applications preferredStrong problem-solving, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration skillsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
