Immigration Attorney - Children

The individual would represent unaccompanied minor children through our established partnerships, provide direct representation to the children including Know Your Rights presentations, screening for eligibility, applications to USCIS and representation before the Immigration Court. The attorney/accredited representative will maintain a direct representation caseload and, through the course of representation, collaborate with other attorneys, mental health[ "Essential Job Duties:\n 1. Interview individuals seeking legal assistance and advise the client as to possible\noptions through proper interpretation of current laws.\n 2. Provide ongoing legal representation to the client commencing with the initial intake\ninterview, drafting of documents, correspondence and client applications/petitions.\n 3. Assess need for pro bono representation. If pro bono representation is needed and\nthe individual is eligible for immigration relief, refer case write up to the Pro Bono\n. Team.\n\n 4. Assist the Pro Bono Team in recruiting, mentoring, and training pro bono attorneys\nfor unaccompanied children cases, and assist in matching these cases for pro bono\nrepresentation.\n 5. Screen for need for navigator services. Refer individuals to Newcomer Network\nnavigators as appropriate when additional resources or case management services\nare needed.\n 6. Conduct outreach activities in the community related to legal issues.\n 7. Assist with the supervision of assigned interns/volunteers.\n 8. Ensure the timely submission of all external and internal program reports.\n 9. Serve as liaison between the program and community partners.\n 10. Complete Continuing Legal Education, in addition to any and all licensing\nrequirements for the Jurisdiction where the attorney is licensed to practice.\n 11.
