We are seeking a proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) leader who is passionate about protecting people and building a strong culture of safety and compliance. In this role, you will play a critical part in identifying and addressing workplace health and safety risks, leading hazard and risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement across the site. You will ensure alignment with Corporate EH&S policies and regulatory requirements, prepare the site for internal and external audits, and lead investigations into safety incidents and violations to ensure effective corrective actions. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Identifies and takes corrective action against activities that pose potential threats to workers’ health or safety, which may include recommending organizational measures to protect workers’ safety through revised methods, processes, or materials; inspecting workplace environments, equipment, and/or practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations; and investigating and/or identifying causes regarding filed incidents. Lead and manage risk/hazard assessments and drive continuous improvements. Ensure alignment to Corporate EH&S policies/standards and prepare the site for audits. Lead and manage investigations related to safety violations to ensure compliance and corrective actions are adequately managed by assigned leaders. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist. Provide and promote employee awareness/training on matters of ergonomics, environmental, occupational health, and safety. Work with the local management team to ensure compliance with all applicable permits, policies, procedures and regulations. Support the Management Team and Regional/ Corporate EH&S to ensure environmental concerns are identified and managed. Interacts with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in regulatory audits. Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by regulatory agencies; collaborates with regulatory agencies to determine corrective action plans. Monitor pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts. Evaluate proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact. Conduct studies and prepares environmental impact reports for new construction projects, plant processes and permit changes. Provide strategic vision and leadership as the EHS Specialist ensuring compliance and sustainability. Must Have: Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C. F. R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) and. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience. Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Nice to Have. Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements mandated by EPA, TDEC, TOSHA, DOL, and other regulatory bodies. Knowledge of monitoring equipment such as air quality monitoring equipment and water sample collection. Familiarity with safety, health regulations and wellness programs. Leadership experience. Advanced knowledge in Environment, Health & Safety regulations. Experience delivering training and developing training materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Degree in Environment, Health or Safety related field. Auditing experience. Experience developing computer-based training. Experience developing policy, standards, and work instructions.
