Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Sous Chef for Dining Services. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Oversees food production, ensuring that all food is produced in a timely manner to meet needs, and is presented in an attractive and appealing style. Oversees kitchen personnel in the production of hot and cold food, in the cleaning of food preparation areas, and in the control of food costs. FLSA Nonexempt Grade 18 Salary Details Minimum Salary 48729.880 Mid Range Salary 57384.810 Maximum Salary 66256.380 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Certifications/ Licenses Serv. Safe certification or certification within one year of employment. Must pass the Food Handler’s Certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good communication skills and computer literacy in industry standard software. Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production worksheets. Preferred Qualifications A degree in culinary arts. Equipment Utilized Industrial kitchen equipment. FoodPro proprietary food production, planning and control system. Physical Demands and Work Environment Special Conditions Multiple vacancies Candidates must pass a written test during the first-round interview. During the second round interview, candidates will be expected to participate in a practical to demonstrate their culinary skills.
