Independently performs advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tests or specialty procedures appropriate to the assigned clinical area. Applies advanced technical knowledge to obtain accurate, reliable results using ophthalmic and specialty-specific equipment. Supports complex patient care activities, including procedural preparation, intra-procedure assistance, and post-procedure processes as applicable. Provides patient education related to diagnostic testing, treatments, and follow-up care. Reviews results for quality and completeness and communicates findings to providers per protocol. Performs routine equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization within scope. Coordinates closely with providers and clinical teams to support efficient scheduling and patient flow. Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the EMR. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
