Visiting Assistant Professor of History

The School of Social Sciences at IU Southeast invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position in Early American History. This is a one-year non-tenure track position. Candidates must have a PhD. by August 1, 2026. The teaching load is four courses per semester (12 credits), with teaching expected in a combination of in person and online courses. Candidates must have the ability to teach the early and modern US history surveys, upper-level undergraduate courses in Early American history, and graduate courses such as Early American History and the Long Nineteenth Century for the collaborative IU online MA program in History. Secondary areas are open, but we are particularly interested in candidates with public and/or digital history expertise.
