And duties include, but are not limited to:Constructs, maintains, and repairs electrical distribution systems, including overhead and underground lines. Installs and repairs electrical equipment such as street lighting and load control devices,Constructs overhead and underground distribution lines based on engineering specifications, including setting poles, pulling cable, setting transformers, etc. Installs equipment such as transformers, capacitors, regulators, load control devices, meters, streetlights, safe lights, etc. Maintains and repairs equipment, e.g., checking equipment and performing preventative maintenance using, test equipment such as volt and amp meters to measure the performance of equipment. Responds to trouble calls when equipment fails and/or electrical service is interrupted. Supports the company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally. Work environment ranges from indoors to outside in varying degrees of heat and cold weather conditions. Emergency situations may require working at night and in inclement weather. Subject to confined spaces (e.g., manholes, vaults, etc.)Shift work, overtime, weekend work. Subject to periodic call-out duty. Frequent travel. Basic/ Required Qualifications. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Desired Qualifications:Certificate from Lineman’s Training School or currently enrolled. Certificate from Technical School Line program or currently enrolled. Military experience. Experience in the electric utility industry. Training and/or work experience with climbing different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.)Previous work experience or training working near power lines and electricity (residential, commercial, overhead lines, or underground lines)Experience with responding to natural disasters or emergency situations (storm response such as hurricanes, tornado, wind event, high water; emergency responses such as fires, auto accidents, etc.)
