ABC News Studios is seeking a highly organized, editorially curious Production Associate to support premium long-form storytelling across documentaries, narrative non-fiction, and news specials. This role is critical to the day-to-day execution of projects—supporting productions from development through post-production while maintaining flexibility to pivot to breaking-news features when needed. ABC News Studios is the long-form, non-fiction production arm of ABC News, producing acclaimed content for Hulu, ABC Network, Disney , and National Geographic. Our teams are driven by journalistic integrity, creative ambition, and a passion for impactful storytelling. What You Will Do. Support large-scale, long-form productions across all stages of development, production, and post-production under tight deadlines. Coordinate and organize field shoots, including logistics, schedules, media management, and reporting needs. Research, log, and manage video, audio, stills, and editorial content for multiple concurrent projects. Create and maintain organizational systems to support long-term productions and evolving editorial needs. Work closely with producers, editors, and senior production staff to ensure projects move forward efficiently. Assist editors directly by preparing materials, tracking media, and supporting post-production workflows. Contribute story ideas and assist with narrative development for long-form and breaking-news features. Multitask effectively while adapting to rapidly changing priorities and production demands. Support supplemental shooting as needed to enhance ongoing productions. Work flexible hours, including weekends, in response to breaking news and production schedules. Basic Qualifications. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a newsroom, production, or documentary environment. Demonstrated ability to work under deadline in a fast-paced, editorially driven setting. Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills. Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience supporting news or documentary productions. Working knowledge of newsroom and production tools such as Galaxy and Concur. Familiarity with archival research, digital resources, and media management systems. Knowledge of ABC News content, platforms, and the evolving streaming landscape. Required Education BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience. The hiring range for this position in New York is $56,580 to $75,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
