(tasks include but are not limited to): Provide raw materials for production area. Remove finished goods from production area. Assist with banding skids of finished goods at all areas. Understand packaging specifications and processing specifications. Supply skids of cans/pails/cartons/cases for Labeling area and remove skids of completed labeled cans/pails/cartons/cases. Replenish skid inventory in Production area and Warehouse area. Assist in banding and store returnable skids to Storage area. Remove unused packaging goods and unused raw materials from production area during changeovers or shutdowns. Maintain proper housekeeping. Record data for inventory purposes, as needed. Unload inbound and chop stock trailers, as needed. Verify Inventory Scanners are operating when transporting skids from production area to warehouse or Transfer trailers. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Essential Full Performance Knowledge: Knowledge required includes, but is not limited to, processing specifications, job breakdowns/ SOP’s, operation of fork truck with a valid license, maintain inventory records, packaging of skids, housekeeping. Essential Full Performance Skills: Reading – read certification sheets, labels, and SDS’s. Math – basic math includes decimals. Writing – fill out certification sheets, QA paperwork, etc. Communication – see physical requirements. Gauge interpretation – read scale, pump motors, HMI (process control panel). Driving/ Operating a fork truck with a valid license. Able to work independently. Equipment/ Data: Equipment Run On-the-Job: Fork truck with valid license, HMI (process control computer), skid bander, weigh scale Tools Required On-the-Job: Shears, Pen, pencil, calculator, pallet jack, shovel, safety knife. Data Used On-the-Job: As applicable, material handling, storage, inspection, traceability, processing specifications. Education & Experience Requirements: Experience: 2 years warehousing experience Work Environment/ Time Worked: Work Environment: Activities occur inside an Adhesive manufacturing facility. Occasional outside for unloading solvent truck deliveries also occurs. Job conditions include but are not limited to exposure to the following. Plant ambient temperature in the summer matches that outside. Plant is heated in the winter time. Material Handler is exposed to dust and solvent fumes in small quantities when raw materials are added. The material handler is exposed to chemicals (raw materials) Sharp edges on safety knives. Heavy equipment includes hydraulic lift. Pinch points on moving mechanical equipment. Works with hot drums of Indopol. Heavy equipment includes fork truck. Job is generally clean in nature. Holder is issued a 100% cotton uniform. Time Worked: Typically Monday through Friday with Saturday and/or Sunday overtime as business dictates. Four shifts of Operation – 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 7 pm-7 am Sat & Sun and 11 pm-7 am Fri/ Mon. Days of Week Worked: Shifts Worked: Material handler position is required to come in 15 minutes prior to start of shift While training on or performing operator/material handler positions you will be required to come in 15 minutes prior to start of shift Physical Requirements: Climbing – climb stairs to mezzanine, many trips per shift, must climb into and out of fork lift. Crouching – crouch to lift bags. Reaching – reach when picking up bags of raw material. Walking – walk to and from raw materials to mixers. Pushing – push raw materials on pallet jack, push a broom and need to occasionally push an empty 55-gallon drum on skid. Pulling – pull raw materials on pallet jack. Lifting – lift raw materials (occasionally up to 62 lbs.) Fingering – must push buttons on HMI (control panel). Grasping – grasp containers of raw materials, valve switches and must grasp various controls of the fork truck. Talking – must communicate with other members of plant. Hearing – must communicate with other members of plant. Sight – see hazards, warnings, SDS’s, etc. Writing – record data and test results.
