Registered Nurse - ICU Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $42.78 - $62.93 an hour - Full-Time Nights, 36 hours per week. - - Range includes night differential. $2.50/hr for weekend shifts. Boulder Community Health is seeking a RN for the ICU who provides patient care, identifying and implementing nursing interventions and evaluating outcomes. ACLS certification required before conditional period ends. Suspension will occur if certification lapses. NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire. Responsibilities: Coordinates and provides nursing care for critically ill or injured patients ages 13through the lifespan with respect to diversity. In life threatening emergent situations, will provide care for critically injured children with support from physicians, pediatricians, and pediatric nurses until transfer can be done safely. Employees must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the primary population of patients served in the department. Employees demonstrate the ability to alter care and patient/family education based on the age or developmental level of the patient. Competency in rhythm recognition, ACLS guidelines, hemodynamics, and basic principles of critical care nursing. Assesses patient status systematically, demonstrates critical thinking by anticipating and responding to changes in clinical condition. Works together as a team to meet patient individual plan. Demonstrates an understanding of patient education tools, assesses learning ability and needs then develops an education plan to meet patient and family deficits. May be required to perform point of care testing. May be a point of care trainer. May be required to do moderately complex lab testing. Committed to support patient safety and quality initiatives, ongoing transitions in standards of care as evidence based practice and research mandate change, and adhere to hospital standards for care. Serves at patients and families liaison.
