Job ID#217013 - - - - Pay Rate: $31.00 - - - - Job Description: - - - Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work instructions - Verifies conformance of work piece to job order requirements - Completes work orders as required - Welds components in flat or vertical positions - Ignites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded - Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors - Clamps, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding - Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas, gas metal arc, and plasma arc, mig welding, stick welding, and brazing - Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials - Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications - Recognizes, set up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc, mig, stick, and gas metal arc welding equipment - Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies - Follows safety rules; utilizes protective clothing and equipment - Must have an understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions - Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures - Performs other duties as required. - - Skill/ Knowledge: - - - High school diploma or GED and 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization - Ability to operate a forklift to approved O.
