Ability to operate standard high-speed industrial sewing machines, heat sealers and other machines specific to the project. Clean and perform machine maintenance, troubleshoot, and resolve malfunctions on commercial machines. Operate hand tools (pliers, shears, hammers, gromet setters, searing scissors). Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Sit for prolonged periods of time with continual movement of hands, arms, and fingers for sewing operations. Often handles pieces of fabric that are consistently heavy and bulky. Work involves continuous standing and walking on concrete floors, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above heads and occasionally working in irregular body postures while sewing. Lifting: This position has a requirement to lift 40 lbs. - 70 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
