As a Safety Lead for John Deere located in Waterloo, IA, you will provide strategic and tactical guidance to location leadership to achieve required injury reduction and compliance with OSHA/ John Deere requirements. In addition, you will: Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet goals established by the company, unit and/or division and leads one or more objectives. Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. Plan, organize and facilitate safety group meetings including incident investigations, root cause analysis, robust safety and ergonomic risk assessments and John Deere safety audit process. Monitor and assure regulatory compliance for location, including all governmental and Deere standards. Lead the tactical deployment and oversees the safety audit process and self-assessments of John Deere safety protocols/programs. Serve as a facilitator as needed for governmental regulatory inspections or 3rd party audits. Prepare and implement proactive actions against incidents and injuries. Maintain and manage OSHA 300 recordkeeping and worker’s compensation requirements Provide technical support on industrial hygiene programs. VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need Demonstrated leadership skills and experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Presentation skills and experience 3 years of experience with OSHA and General industry safety requirements (i.e., safety audits, Robot & Machine Safeguarding Risk Assessments, Safety Risk Assessments, and Ergonomics) Industrial hygiene program experience, particularly regarding specific exposure groups Root cause analysis experience Ability to work off shifts to conduct proactive safety activities as well as incident investigations, root cause analysis and other duties What Makes You Stand Out Experience as a Safety Engineer or similar experience within a manufacturing operation Knowledge of OSHA standards, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, assembly processes, machine safeguarding, large manufacturing process and a unionized work environment. Supervisory experience CSP or CIH certification Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent discipline What You'll Get
