Strengths in social psychology, critical social psychology, adult and/or child clinical psychology, positive psychology, and/or cultural and global perspectives are particularly welcome. These positions include teaching both undergraduate and master’s level graduate students in both lecture and seminar classes at either the introductory or more advanced levels. The exact format of each course will be determined in consultation with the successful candidate. Seminar courses are typically capped at 15 students and include a seminar class and biweekly meetings with individual students to develop a semester-long independent project—conference work—which usually takes the form of a substantial literature review or other form of independent research project conducted under the instructor’s guidance. Lecture courses, capped at 45 students, include small group conferences rather than individual biweekly conferences, in addition to weekly lectures. In addition, we expect that some courses might involve supervising students doing course related fieldwork in community settings or at our campus laboratory preschool. Application materials should include: a cover letter, curriculum vitae, course descriptions for two proposed courses, a sample course syllabus, a statement of teaching philosophy, a sample of scholarly writing, and three professional references who will be contacted for a letter of recommendation upon submission of the candidate’s application. Please include a consideration of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging in your teaching statement. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. This is an in-person teaching appointment, with the expectation that the appointed individual will teach on campus for the duration of the contract period. Compensation for this position is a per-course rate based on experience. Required Qualifications A doctorate in psychology or an allied field is preferred. Increased consideration will be given to candidates with a record of effective college-level teaching and experience guiding undergraduate research projects.
